This is an image of NGC 891, or the Silver Sliver, as processed by Slooh.com. The image was actually taken by Slooh.com member KeithS but I piggybacked his mission to be able to get this image.

This image is based on the multi-luminance 50 processing recipe. The recipe takes five luminance filter images at 50 seconds per exposure, which is why there’s no color in this image.

I discuss piggybacking, multi luminance, processing recipes, and how to use images like this in my book.
