This is a starless version of the Orion Nebula, or Messier 42.
I created this image based on a large number of observations in 2016 to get a long exposure time. I then used the content-aware tools in Photoshop to remove the stars and smooth out the nebula.
I worked on this image for a number of hours. Other than removing the stars I did very little processing of this image since the SNR was quite high to begin with and there was very little noise in the image.
