Slooh.com offers its members a number of telescopes that are online during the local night. Slooh.com does offer its members access to a remote solar telescope that is online during the day and that you can use to capture amazing pictures of the Sun.

Here’s one recent image I took of the Sun featuring sunspot AR 2765:

This sunspot featured a long tail-like structure and it was interesting to observe the sunspot over several days.

The Solar Telescope, called Canary 5, is a Lunt Double-Stack Hydrogen-Alpha Telescope having a Celestron Skyris 236C High-Frame-Rate Video camera attached to it. Members can simply navigate to the telescope’s page and snap photos of the Sun from the live video feed.

The Solar Telescope does not take reservations, so you need to be online when the telescope is online to be able to snap images from the telescope’s feed. You can take an unlimited number of images from this and the other telescopes that you can watch live.
