This is a narrowband image of IC 1805:

This emission nebula is about 7,500 light years from us. The energy to light up this nebula is coming from the stars at the center of the nebula.

Acquisition and Processing

I acquired this image using Telescope Live using the following subexposures:

  • H-alpha: 30 minutes, binned 1×1
  • SII: 30 minutes, binned 1×1
  • OIII: 30 minutes, binned 1×1

I processed this image using PixInsight and Photoshop.
