This is a narrowband, Hubble Palette (SHO), closeup view of NGC 3576:
This is an emission nebula, which means it generates its own light, and is 100 light years across. This nebula is about 9,000 light years from us. The name of this nebula is relatively new: it was proposed in 2009.

There’s no green in the preceding image – it is instead highlighted with blue, orange, red, and some other colors – this really highlights the nebulosity in the surrounding region.
This is the same nebula captured using the Slooh.com Chile 2 telescope:
The Slooh.com image is an LRGB image and is made up of 10 minutes of observing. The difference in resolution between the two images is dramatic.

- H-alpha: 20 minutes, binned 1×1
- SII: 20 minutes, binned 1×1
- OIII: 20 minutes, binned 1×1
