Astronomers Pedro Bernardinelli and Gary Bernstein recently discovered a comet that is about 100km wide called 2014UN271, or Comet Bernardinelli-Bernstein.
They discovered the comet by studying archival images from the Dark Energy Survey.
The comet has a very elongated orbit and at its closest point, it will get as close as Saturn and at its furthest point it could be half a light year from us.
This comet is so big, it could be considered a dwarf planet. Here’s an image:
